Everything a child sees and hears in Animal Sounds is either original project work, licensed vector art, or media generated for this project.

Vector artwork

Animal and category SVG artwork comes from Google Noto Emoji at pinned revision 8998f5d, licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Read the bundled licence. The ABSU Kids and Animal Sounds brand SVGs are original project artwork.

Animal sounds

120 of the 123 animal sounds are master recordings generated for this project with Higgsfield (Wan 3.0 native audio, Max plan, commercial use), each checked for species accuracy by an automated loudness/duration gate, an audio-event classifier and a human review board. Penguin, bee and mosquito use sounds synthesized by the project. Per-file generation ids are recorded in the repository's sounds/CREDITS.json.

Real photos and body-part close-ups

The 123 animal photos and 48 body-part close-ups shown in Learn mode are photorealistic images generated for this project with Higgsfield (Kling image model, Max plan, commercial use). They are illustrations of each species, not photographs of specific animals. Per-file generation ids are recorded in photos/CREDITS.json.

Spoken names

The English and Hindi narrator clips (342 in total: every animal and body part in both languages) are synthetic speech generated for this project with Higgsfield (Seed audio, preset voice “Ainsley”, Max plan, commercial use). Per-file generation ids are recorded in voice/CREDITS.json.

Earlier recordings

Versions before 1.5.0 included twelve Wikimedia Commons recordings (CC0, public domain and CC BY-SA). They are no longer shipped; their attributions remain in the project history.
